Russell was so well received last week that we decided we'd pay him an immediate return visit. Running a full time business means he has hardly any spare time so we had to make do with an extended lunchbreak slot. He took us on one of his regular running routes through fields of lilac thistles until we came to some old derelict buildings where local kids clearly come to spend time alone/take drugs/have sex. A perfect spot you might say that was until some dog walkers started showing too much interest in Russell's lunchtime stint thus the perils of performing in public places. Russell took it all in his stride even though he couldn't be sure that he wasn't being watched by prying eyes for the entire solo.

Back up to Russell's part of the world for what seems like an annual catch-up now (it's a jolly long car ride too). He's busy with a new fitness coaching business training women mostly. The tattoos that remind him of his past are slowly fading (laser treatment) and he's making lots of new memories now. Half-way through the interview he tries to conceal an uncharacteristically happy grin as we ask him about his love life. We learn that he's got a nice new girlfriend finally giving him the attention he deserves. It's early days for the relationship but it's a relief to see grumpy Russell in a buoyant mood. Russell takes us to his favourite childhood haunt again and reflects on his early aspirations and the houses he looked at across the playing fields that he dreamed of living in one day. He's about to move house too so enjoy one last visit to this familiar apartment he's kindly shared with us these past few years. We met Delroy one warm sunny day on the South Coast after shooting some new lads for TFE.
